The New Berlin Taxpayers Alliance has been working with public officials to compel Union Pacific Railroad to repair the deteriorated and dangerous Moorland Road railroad crossing. (see prior articles regarding this effort at http://www.newberlintaxpayers.org)
The Wisconsin Railroad Commission will be holding a hearing to discuss the Moorland Road crossing. YOUR COMMENTS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED so the Wisconsin Railroad Commission is aware of how much public support there is for a repair to the crossing.

This crossing needs repairing, I almost lost control being on my motorcycle going at the posted speed limit. I also lose control going over these tracks with my semi tractor trailer for a brief moment. I have seen others go to fast and lose direction for a split second. There is a bike path that runs parallel with those tracks and when cars get close to them along with braking over those tracks, they lose some braking distance which could be fatal. Some cars slow down to cross these tracks while others go to fast when they are grouped together which can result in rear end collisions which will happen again. Some cars blow out tires and shocks crossing these tracks. Some landscape vehicles hauling trailers lose items that bounce onto the road which then get run over by everyone else. Please repair these unsafe tracks along with the Sunnyslope Ave crossing too, those are just as bad.

Glad it’s fixed, now where do I write about the sunnyslope tracks?

I’ve been meaning to make another update. The current fix at Moorland is temporary. A judge ruled that the railroad has to do a permanent rebuild of the crossing by June of 2022. Hopefully they will do the Sunnyslope crossing which is JUST as bad (though just not as busy of a road) at the same time because the railroad will have their crew/equipment in the area already. I’ll try to look into that.
